 Recovering a password on your Mac is not a difficult task. The passwords can be accessed by following a few steps mentioned below:

1.      Go to the Spotlight search on your Mac. Tap on the ‘Magnifying Glass’ icon on the top of the screen.

2.      Search for the term ‘Keychain’ in the search box and open the ‘Keychain Access’ app.

3.      The keychain access window will open. Select ‘All Items’ from the sidebar under the ‘Category’ tag. 

4.      Search for the website on the search bar for which you want to recover the password.

5.      Once you find the result, right-click on the website name and select ‘Get Info’ from the drop-down menu.

6.      A new window will open that’ll contain all the information regarding your account including the login details. Tap on the checkbox next to ‘View Password’ to view the hidden password.

7.      A new dialog box will appear asking you to enter the Keychain password. Enter the password for the same. The keychain password is the same as the system password that you use to login to your system.

8.      Once you’ve entered the password, hit the ‘Ok’ button to continue. The password will now appear and you can take note of the same.

It is easy to recover a lost password for your website. Also, it is necessary to keep in mind that you’ll only be able to recover your password if you save the same by opting for the ‘Save Password’ option when you visit a website. The other options you can choose are ‘Not Now’ or ‘Never for this website’ to keep the password from saving.
